2 daughters of Alaska, Susan Lindauer & Sarah Palin: a real spooky politicized conspiracy thread
After reviewing many DU threads of the historic past week there were several that hit me like a hammer blow, since I'm a conspiracy realist and what Chalmers Johnson (in "Nemesis") termed an "amateur intelligence analyst".

The threads that captured my attention mentioned names and events primarily connected to the Troopergate investigation into alleged abuse of power by Gov. Palin, the AG of Alaska telling state employees to ignore subpoenas, and the involvement of McCain 2008 campaign Republican operatives interfering and delaying that Alaskan investigation of Sarah Palin.

A name that initially was of some interest to me was that of former US Atty from New York Ed O'Callaghan, who resigned from the DoJ and joined the McCain 2008 team, a couple of threads mentioned the fact that Ed O'Callaghan had been in charge of the prosecution of Susan Lindauer. The original judge hearing that NY case is now the AG of The United States of America, Michael Mukasey.

Susan Lindauer's name I had heard in the context of a woman that had been "disappeared" and silenced in the federal court system for political reasons-but I was basically ignorant about her case until last week when I did some research.

A Daily KOS post from March 11, 2004 was informative about Susan Lindauer-and I've found through experience that information reported at the time of events to be more reliable for accuracy.
That Daily KOS post is linked below, it was started by DHinMI.

"Member of Prominent Republican Family Arrested For Spying For Iraq: Alleged Spy Linked to White House"
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/3/12/12718/8399

Ok, now I'm going to link to something that may be more familiar here at DU, also highly informative about that daughter of Alaska that sent a note to her second cousin Andy Card (who was in charge of the White House Iraq Group/WHIG in addition to his other duties) and was charged with being a spy for Saddam Hussein.

This is an exclusive interview of Susan Lindauer by New Zealand's Michael Collins Scoop (posted June 12, 2008-btw, Scoop includes some longtime DUers), it has been posted here before.

"American Cassandra: Susan Lindauer's Story"
http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0806/S00180.htm

A review of this OP so far finds that a former US Atty from New York is involved in McCain 2008 political operations to delay an Alaskan investigation into alleged abuse of power by Sarah Palin, these political operations fit some of the legal definitions of conspiracy in the opinion of many people, including me.

This same individual was in charge of the prosecution of Susan Lindauer which began in the federal court of US AG Michael Mukasey, Susan Lindauer was held in a Texas military base's psychiatric unit for 11 months and ordered forcibly drugged-among other things for speaking of her possible role as a CIA asset while being a reporter.

That's enough for this OP, I'll be posting on the federal judge that was assigned Susan Lindauer's case after Michael Mukasey, Loretta Preska (as well as her spouse Thomas J. Kavaler, their extended family histories and political/social affiliations) as well as other facts about the lives of these two daughters of Alaska and their associates involved in what this "amateur intelligence analyst" calls a politicized conspiracy.

As always your comments and input are welcome.

1. An obscure bit of Alaskan history...
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 02:26 PM by Blue_In_AK
Susan Lindauer's father ran for governor here in 1998 amid a fair amount of scandal involving his wife's finances. Another Republican, Robin Taylor of Wrangell, ran against him as a write-in candidate, effectively splitting the Republican vote and allowing Democrat Tony Knowles to win the position. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Howard_Lindauer

The Wikipedia entry lacks all the drama that came out here during that year's campaign, but, like you, I was struck by these odd connections.

5. The federal judge that replaced Mukasey, for example, Loretta Preska
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 06:05 PM by bobthedrummer
she came from a fine NY family-her father designed and engineered all kinds of weapons at Benet Laboratories facility in the Watervliet Arsenal. And when Loretta married it was within her class. Former US Army Captain Thomas J. Kavaler, a guy she met at work. A NY Supreme Court Justice performed the ceremony.

"Loretta Preska Weds a Fellow Lawyer" (NYT archived article September 12, 1983)
http://query.nytimes.com/search/sitesearch?query=loretta+preska+weds+fellow+lawyer&type=ny&x=&&y=11

They are well off indeed, and Tom has made a lot of political contributions through the decades.
And he is a regular contributor to the Club for Growth PAC.
Thomas J. Kavaler 2008 political contributions
http://www.campaignmoney.com/political/contributions/thomas-kavaler.asp?cycle=08

The Club for Growth is so exclusive and extreme RW that it has its own page at Source Watch.
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Club_for_Growth

Oh well, that's enough about these New York judges and attorneys and their backgrounds and interests involved in the Susan Lindauer case.

Ed O' Callaghan comes from that New York US Atty scene then he resigned to join McCain 2008 and specialize in Sarah Palin's perception management team along with Sarah's pal and spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton-who, what a "coincidence" is the daughter of Auburn NY attorney David Stapleton and his wife Helene.

Gee, all these NY families reminds me of another case that Ed O'Callaghan was involved with as a US Atty in NY, prosecution of the Gambino crime family.

Maybe some tech savvy DUer could make a flowchart or spreadsheet out of this so far.

11. The Club for Growth?
Interesting. The Club for Growth almost single-handedly financed Sarah's Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell's primary campaign against Don Young for the U.S. House seat. Despite Don Young's continuing legal troubles and enormous expenditures on high-powered DC lawyers, Young somehow managed to win the primary by about 300 votes. Parnell did not ask for a recount, even though he was entitled to one at state expense. Speculation is that a deal was cut to concede the House nomination to Young, as Parnell could conceivably become governor should the McCain/Palin ticket succeed.

Here is just one reference, but there are thousands of hits when one googles "Club for Growth" and "Sean Parnell."

We here in Alaska have some unique insights into this whole Palin thing that need to be understood by folks Outside. She would be a disaster as VP. I hope everybody wakes up and sends her back here, sans McCain operatives, so we can get to the truth of her administration.

13. Meg Stapleton is vile.
The way she ripped into Walt Monegan at that press conference was like nothing I had ever seen before. Sad, too, because I used to like her when she was a reporter at KTUU.

KTUU has been "in the tank" for Palin since 2006, and to a very unseemly degree, as more becomes known. Not only was Meg Stapleton hired by Palin's campaign, but also Bill McAllister, who was formerly KTUU's political reporter in Juneau, has become her press secretary. Andrew Halcro has been reporting on this.

well heeled lawyer (David Stapleton) that I'm going to dump in this post for the time being, Blue_In_AK.

One connecting theme I've found is that of the involvement of many of the people involved in Troopergate with RW religious groups and organizations from Charles Koop to Talis Colberg to Sean Parnell and, of course Sister Sarah.

From Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse and his own lavish Alaskan retreat to Doug Coe and the RW cultish Fellowship Foundation to Charles Kopp's Tanalian Bible Camp at Port Alsworth (founded by his father) and the fact that both AG Colberg and Lt Gov Parnell got their bachelors degrees at Pacific Lutheran University during the time prior to the incorporation of three Lutheran churches into the ELCA there is the RW religious component.

Here are a few links about what I've been looking at so far.

Charles M. Kopp's Kenai Police Chief page
http://www.aacop.org/Charles%20M%20Kopp.htm

"Kopp hiring proved Palin's fundamentalist street cred" by Alan Boraas (9-20-2008 Anchorage Daily News)
http://www.adn.com/opinion/story/531723.html

Meg Stapleton had/has a position with Alaska Communications Systems, who knows what connections were used to get awarded contracts for growth?

Alaska Communications Systems Lobbying Firms 1998-2004
http://projects.publicintegrity.org/lobby/profile.aspx?act=clients&year=2003&cl=L000137

Then there are all the Ted Stevens/Bill Allen angles including Josef Boehm/Alaska Industrial Hardware and the underage drug addicted kids that these perverted old GOPers used like toys-that is the most vile aspect of all to me--might there be a connection to Sister Sarah and meth labs, her family and that of Bambi Tyree or any other messed up Alaskan kids?

I'm going to keep at this-there is some kind of NY US Atty/DoJ corruption aspect too, or Ed O'Callaghan wouldn't be doing what he's doing in Alaska for McCain 2008.

19. Here's a name I've got to drop on you, Blue_In_AK-Ken Privratsky.
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 09:52 PM by bobthedrummer
He is/was the VP and GM of CSX Alaska (formerly Sea-Land) which was purchased by The Carlyle Group in February 2003 and renamed Horizon Lines.

Ken Privratsky is the third person profiled in the Alaska Business mag article linked below.
http://www.akbizmag.com/2004/Jan_04_big_business.htm

When he was in the Army Ken Privratsky was Major General Privratsky, commanding general in charge of Military Traffic Management-he was a big supporter of Rumsfeld and Rumfeld's Revolution in Military Affairs/RMA policies, among other things.

I also wonder if there are connections between Horizon Lines and Totem Ocean Trailer Express Inc. (involved in false-flag "Iranian" boat attacks).

Don Young and Ted Stevens and staff helped to launch a couple of Totem Ocean Trailer Express Inc. ships
in the past.

between Sarah and the whole Boehm/Bambi Tyree mess that I know of, but it's interesting enough that Bill Allen was involved. I think some kind of deal was cut to keep this aspect out of his plea agreement. I did some transcription work on that Boehm case but it mostly involved his mental health and whether he was fit to stand trial.

I remember reading something on Phil Munger's ProgressiveAlaska blog about Allen and Tyree a while ago, but I can't find it right now. In the meantime, here's a post about Chuck Kopp written July 26 in which commenter "Ted" exhibits some fairly spooky precognition re Sarah Palin a month before the announcement of her candidacy. I'll keep looking for the other thing about Bambi.

35. Bob, I see the infamous Bambi popped up
in the Daily News' coverage of the Stevens' trial this morning.

http://www.adn.com/ted-stevens/story/540175.html

<snip>

But Allen's scheduled testimony was also marked with controversy and possible delay -- the scope of cross examination remains undecided. Prosecutors are seeking to limit the kinds of questions that Stevens' attorneys can ask Allen in an effort to impeach him. In particular, they want to prevent questions about Bambi Tyree, who, as a 14- or 15-year-old, told friends she had sex with Allen. She is now 27 and is listed as a potential defense witness.

The defense says Stevens' right to confront the witnesses against him includes exploring whether Allen believed he wouldn't be prosecuted over Tyree if he agreed to plead guilty to federal public corruption charges and testify against Stevens and others.

<snip>

Tyree's father's name has come up several times in the trial already, but in a different context. Mark Tyree, who died in 2005, was the Wasilla plumber hired by Veco to install the pipes, fixtures and heating in the renovations it provided for Stevens on his Girdwood home. Earlier this year, the Daily News reported that over the years, Allen provided gifts, including cars, for Bambi Tyree and her family.

Anchorage police have an open investigation of Allen for sexual abuse of a minor involving Tyree and at least one other woman.

<snip>

41. So now it's James Dobson and his RW religious extreme Texas based Liberty Legal Institute
that was engaged by 5 Alaskan GOPers to bring an end to Troopergate related investigations of Gov.SARAH PALIN-but this ploy failed, as did the AG's challenge of subpoenas.

"An Anchorage judge Thursday refused to halt the Legislature's investigation of Gov. Sarah Palin and denied the Alaska attorney general's challenge of legislative subpoenas."

That's from the Anchorage Daily News article by Sean Cockerham posted 10-3-2008 below (and don't nitpick the headline-this article is heavy on detail--thank you Sean Cockerham!)

47. "Todd Palin Defends Trooper Actions" by Jason Leopold (10-10-2008 Consortium News)
"Alaska Gov.Sarah Palin's husband admits he was obsessed with getting his wife's estranged brother-in-law fired from the state troopers, so much so that Gov. Palin once told him to 'stop talking about it with her' according to a 25-page sworn affidavit given to a state investigator."

http://www.consortiumnews.com/2008/100908c.html

I think Todd Palin made false statements in his 25-page sworn affidavit.
These folks don't care about the truth at all.

Anyone have anything else to add to this thread today???

57. A couple of hours after the public release of the Troopergate investigation Meg Stapleton
and Democratic Alaska State Rep. Les Gara had a public dispute-I understand there are some recordings of that, maybe someone would be kind enough to post them in this developing thread.

64. 10-20-2008 "Investigator set to interview Palins" by Rachel D'Oro/AP via Anchorage Daily News
"TROOPERGATE: Meeting this week will be held out of state.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband will meet this week with an investigator determining whether she violated state ethics law when firing her public safety commissioner."

http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/561465.html

I don't think that Sister Sarah or Todd will be "interviewed" at Fort Carswell's military psychiatric facility in Texas where Susan Lindauer was disappeared by McCain/Palin 2008 campaigner Ed O'Callaghan when he was a Southern District NY U.S. Attorney.

I wonder where Susan is today-anyone know???

"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is allowed to charge taxpayers for her children's commercial airline tickets because they represent the state whereever they go with her."
