OC, CA: Obama Signs Must Outnumber McSame Signs 10 to 1 |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 02:19 PM by stopbush
Not a scientific study, just an observation.
Orange County is incredibly red, yet it would appear that many Rs are embarrassed to put McSame bumper stickers on their cars or signs in their yards.
I have no doubt most of them will still vote R, but it's nice to see them cowering for a change!
I just bought my Obama yard sign and a couple of bumper stickers yesterday (I gave up waiting for the free Move On stickers to show). The stickers are on the cars, and the yard sign is in my front window. Yes - the Rs around here steal and vandalize D signs.

8. My observations from Bakersfield, a city that Bush won with 65% of the vote |
|
Obama bumper stickers outnumber McSame stickers about 7 to 1.
And there are numerous reports of Obama signs and cars with Obama stickers being vandalized.

Naturally being a conservative city, Bakersfield has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the state, one of the highest unemployment rates in the state, one of the highest poverty rates in the state and one of the lowest high school graduation rates in the state (it might even have the highest rate).
Students in Kern County (where Bakersfield is located) has the lowest standard test scores in the state. And what does the school board spend their time on? Putting "In God We Trust" posters (at a cost of $12,000) in classrooms and voting on supporting Prop. 8. Not any real work on improving the schools.

I was wondering why not that many signs/bumper stickers in San Diego since this past summer. When I bring it to San Diegans they said wait till we get the VP's in place and then the signs will come out. Well, I am still waiting and almost nothing. 4 Years ago it was about 50/50 Kerry/ Bush. More repubs here, San Diego is military town. Of the scare bumper stickers it is about 90% Obama.

In the past two elections Republicans were always been so in-your-face about supporting Bush et al. Even if they still vote Republican, at least they finally have the sense to be embarrassed about it.
