Six children in custody after evangelist's compound raided (too crazy for words!)

Six children were put into temporary custody after authorities raided an evangelist's Arkansas compound, a state police spokesman said Sunday.

The children were being interviewed as part of an investigation into whether they were physically or sexually abused at the Tony Alamo Christian Ministries near Texarkana, Arkansas, according to Bill Sadler. (snip ..)

Asked why authorities were searching the property, Alamo compared himself to Christ.

2. Is Tony Alamo and his church still around?

He was busted in California for treating his followers as slave labor to make jackets he was selling. There were also allegations of child abuse and other abuses. His church was dismantled for fraud and other accusations legally. That was about twenty years ago. So did he go and reorganize in Texas! Here's a wikipedia page on it.
