When's the national strike start?
That's the only thing we have left.

Our president betrayed his oath of office.
Our representatives have sold us down the river.
Corporations care only about their bottom line. Human beings are just another "resource" to be used up and discarded.

We can't change this at the ballot box. And we're not going to get anywhere marching with pitchforks.

Only if their serfs don't show up to perform manual labor will the corporations take notice.

So when do we go on strike?

6. Good luck finding 100 people willing to
do what you are suggesting. Yes, I have become the ultimate pessimist. Hell, there arent 10% of amerikans who even know anything is fucking wrong. Most of them are sitting in front of their tv's watching football.
And the ones who do know are too apathetic to care.

The absolute future of amerika is in the hands of the rich and powerful.

8. Few are going to put their livelihoods on the line. A better idea would be:
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 04:35 PM by LBJDemocrat
A national no-consumption day, where no one consumes or buys anything but food (not in restaurants), electricity, and rent.

Edit: And it should be on a weekend, so that it's clear and immediately apparent.

I can't lose my job. I just can't. My life is on the line, but I'd rather save as much as possible up until I get laid off.

15. Given what the future likely holds
We should all be doing that EVERY day, as much as possible.

Don't buy ANYTHING that isn't a necessity.

18. Yeah, that sounds like five out of seven days for me.
Most people are down to buying necessities as it is. All they will do is shift their purchase by a day or two. No big deal.

If you can get people to do it, it will be the only thing that will make them stop and think. I'm not working right now, or I'd join ya. I'll tell you what I can do. If you can organize it and give me a date, I won't buy anything that day. That'll help some too.

is to pull our cars out onto the highways and park them. Shut the roads down at every major junction of the freeway system and see what happens.

31. never...
the average American is too lazy and complacent to do anything until it directly affects their family. By then, it will be too late. Losing TV remotes or cell-phones is their biggest current concern. Soon, they'll become concerned about making mortgage payments, after skyrocketing fuel prices put them out of work. Then, they can worry about which viaduct bridge is the best shelter for their kids.
