Rich People: America's Greatest Threat |
|
Not terrorists, or dictators, or communists, or illegal immigrants or even killer bees have come this close to destroying the country.
This is what happened when we ceased from looking up to people who did their best for all us to those who only did their best for themselves.
Greed is not good.
Now we have the proof!

You know how many rich people helped after Katrina? You know that one actor in particular (who didn't want his name publicized) fed the entire Astrodome the whole period of time it was a shelter. Some of the best friends the poor and middle class have are rich people.

4. Think about what I just wrote |
|
It's more about the worship of rich people and the wealth creation cult than the rich themselves
and you're right, no group of people is all bad

5. There's nothing wrong with aspiration |
|
It's only when greed blinds a person that it gets in the way. MY point was that without money in the hands of good people, we'd be in a lot of trouble. Therefore, aspiring toward money isn't a negative or positive thing.

"Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to squeeze through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into the kingdom of God."
Obviously, all these faux Xtians have never read the Bible, or they only read the parts they like, or they have no belief in the Kingdom of Heaven.
For that matter, neither do I. But I do believe in living right (left?), in helping others and in doing the next right thing. Most rich folks don't have a clue what those phrases mean. So there's only one thing left to do.
Eat the rich.

to current ideology such as Warren Buffett. The greatest threat IMO has been the new ideology (or old since it goes back to the Gilded Age) that wants to undo the New Deal.

This European best-seller is now out in English. I just finished it. I highly recommend How the Rich Are Destroying the Earth by Herve Kempf (with foreword by Greg Palast). It will make you want to read (or re-read) Thorstein Veblen.
