Poll question: Should the bailout happen?
Should Paulson get the $700 billion?

1. No, nothing is too big to fail, that concept is a lie.

2. Not until it's made clear exactly how this will actually achieve anything
So far all we have is cheerleading for the DJIA gains, most of which I suspect was driven by banning short sales and artificially pushing prices up on Friday. Otherwise there is no real indication of how this will actually fix anything, nor for that matter, what the real problem is.

3. Not unless certain demands are met...
Inlcuding a broad range of new deal policies that others have outlined much better than I am capable of, and
Prison for every executive/ceo involved, and
We the people own the corporations rescued, and
The concept of unregulated markets is rendered unconstitutional.

4. Only with Obama's conditions, and then only if absolutely necessary to prevent a complete meltdown.
I just don't understand enough about the consequences of doing it versus not doing it, and I sure don't believe anything coming out of a Republican's mouth about it.

5. Nope, it's corporate welfare.
If the poor in America have to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps, then the rich should have to do so too.

7. Exactly. Thank you.
I'll never understand why in this country, welfare is only "bad" when it goes to people who actually need it.

Actually, that's not true. I do pretty much understand it - and I don't like what it says about Americans.
