Dear Congressional Democrats,
Over the past two years you've repeatedly broken my heart. Time and time again you've caved to the lock-step republicans. We've moved nowhere on nothing, and back-wards on somethings, as you've repeatedly rubber stamped everything the Bush Administration demanded.
Your worthless advisers instructed you to go along to get along, to remove issues from the table to avoid being criticized on Rush and talking head shows because things were so bad that the country had nowhere to turn but to you. And if you just kept your heads down, this year would be your year.
Now, we're six weeks out and the Republicans, potentially sensing the end in sight, are going to blow up the country, and hand over The Treasury to their friends on Wall Street to leave you with the mess come January 20th, and you're the only ones standing between them and our money.
And damn it, you've got to do this for me! You've got to do this for the country. I wish there was someone else to help us, but there isn't. It's just you guys, and you've got to man and woman up.
Who the hell are the republicans/Wall Street execs to DEMAND anything? They're the beggars! They're the ones coming hat in hand! They're the ones complaining about giving up their personal jets! Oh my god the horror!!!
You've got to beat them and beat them hard and beat them together or we're all hopelessly screwed and you know it.
This is a winning issue. It doesn't have to be complicated. The Republicans are trying to say no pork ad ons, but the American public isn't that stupid. They know what a blank check is...they know that they've been getting raped and pillaged by corporate America and republicans for the past decade, why do you think no one trusts government?!
You damn well better be crafting the ad right now with a picture of a burning blank check and saying hell no and f&^&^&^% no!. We're not going to give the Bush Government a blank check for a trillion dollars. (A trillion dollars/??????????)
You better be cutting ads with the senior citizens who had their homes stolen by these corrupt asses who swindled them, and have these people say Hell No and F*&&^* No to giving them this money for nothing.
These people need to be punished. They need to be sued. The heads of these companies need to be personally bankrupted. They shouldn't be allowed to keep so much as a honda civic in their driveways. Frankly, they need to be thrown into jail for 20-years for causing this debacle.
But, if that's not going to happen, you Democrats need to stand up and say that there is NO BLANK CHECK. The taxpayers are NOT going to pay to keep these corporate CE Os in their fancy corporate jets eating their $1,500 fancy dinners. They can brown bag it from now on.
We're not going to socialize losses and privative profits! These people screwed the pooch because they were GREEDY. And if every American is going to pay $2,000 a pop to buy up their bad debts, then we damn well want and deserve something back!
I want to own these damn companies. They broke it, we're buying it, but I don't just want the crap, I want the good stuff too.
And I want to regulate their asses into the next century. This cannot be allowed to happen again. And you cannot cave and roll over on this issue.
It's time to lead for once. I know that scares you. I know you really really really don't want to. It's scary. It's a lot safer to go along to get along.
But we cannot afford it. We cannot afford a trillion dollar giveaway to George W. Bush and his friends. We just can't. And damn it, it's embarrassing.
Stand up and fight for once in your lives. I promise you, it'll feel good. The Republicans are going to kick and scream. It's possible Bush will threaten to veto your bill if you create something that's equitable enough. Let him. Let him and McCain stand up for corporate welfare. Let them own their desire to bail out their rich friends but not us. Let's see how far that takes them. It'll take them down the river as long as you are strong and passionate and fight back. They do not have a winning message. We do. But only if we fight together.
We're all sitting here willing and able to back you up. Please, I'm begging of you, let us help you.
