Crazy idea about the mortgages that I wish would work (but won't) |

Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 07:48 AM by Citizen Jane
Wouldn't it be great if, in return for taxing us umpteen thousands of dollars, let groups of taxpayers manage individual mortgages. So, let's say a devalued mortgage is worth 100,000$ and each of us taxpayers (kids included) is going to end up paying 10,000$ in taxes over the years for the bailout. Wouldn't it be nice if two or three of us families whose tax burden was going to add up to $100,000 total could form a corporation in charge of that 1 $100,000 loan and work out payment terms or sell the house or whatever so that we were directly administering the debt we were being sacked with.
Yeah, there are way too many problems with something like that working. I already know that.
I just wish there was some way that all of us taxpayers getting screwed could have more direct control over how our $$ are being used and abused in the bailout AND have direct input and control over getting out of this situation.
I'll just go back to fantasyland now...yes, if McPain wins I will alternate between active protest and medicating myself.
:banghead:
Edited to add emoticon.

1. Watch out what you wish for, Bush might like this idea... |

as an alternative to Social Security, which would provide the funds for the bail out.
