Maybe they will be so busy watching TV that they don't even notice. It would have been easier to hold the sheeple's attention in August when there was nothing on but reruns that had already aired three times.

the Dems proposals will be so watered down and will have so many qualifiers (put in by the repukes)that the proposals will be basically meaningless.

it will give the dems a way out and the repukes will get what they want.

Harry Reid in the Senate puts Paulson's bill up for a straight up-or-down vote, but several Democrats running this year introduce an oversight amendment. The amendment fails in a 48 to 52 vote. Paulson's passes with a large margin.

The House passes a bill with some limited oversight provisions, but they are stripped out by a rushed conference committee.

Bush signs Thursday and Wall Street rallies.

Regulations, exec pay, homeowner safeguards are part of package PLUS stick a fork in the Iraq war, it's done. Start bringing the troops home. No way can they have this bailout and the continued billions for their unnecessary war too. :grr:
