John "Dumber than a Box of Rocks" Cornyn ad on TV this morning
While going back and forth between rooms this morning, I heard a John "Bushbot" Cornyn ad on our tv. What got me was that I don't ever remember ads that John ran 6 years back. Maybe I wasn't paying attention 6 years ago, but to run a Cornyn ad today in a pretty red area of Texas is sort of a call to worry, imo, on the Republic party side.

What got me on the ad was a statement, "conservative change." WTF is "conservative change?" This guy is running for reelection, and isn't "conservative change" really an oxymoron? How can you be for change when you have been so far up Bush's ass the past 7 years? Oh, and I never heard the name "Bush" in the ad. Maybe I was in another room and missed it. Nahhhhhh.

2. I should watch more local teevee
Hoping that I see me some Rick Noriega ads. My part of Texas usually gets ignored by both sides but I did see a McSame ad when I watched 60 minutes last night. I don't know if it was national or local though.

3. It's the mythical image of the word "Conservative"
Whenever a Republican fucks everything up it's because he: "Wasn't a true Conservative." I had a guy tell me Bush wasn't Conservative and he took the Republican Party to the Left by not balancing the budget etc. What a joke.

See in Conservative Land, they balance the budget, the free-market works perfectly, the whole world shivers in their boots at tough talk and giving money to rich people makes everybody else rich too!

So when one of them actually governs and none of this works, they fall back on their mythical little world and say that it was because they weren't really a "Conservative". Well, I don't believe in fairy tales, myself, so I'll just stick with the GOP not being able to govern for shit and ignore the spin.

4. He's a complete asshole. I don't like Hutchison either, but she at least answers most
of the 'canned' (pre-written by whatever org. is trying to get me to take action) emails I send her. Cornyn, until the last year or two - maybe a lot of peope bitched at him - never answered a damn thing. Once when I did get a flyer of what he was doing, I mailed it back with the sarcastic message 'I really enjoy reading all of the personal responses you send me'. :^)
