Palin Is Being Groomed For 2012
There's a lot to dislike about Sarah Palin. Her "small-town values", her woeful enviromental record, her stance on abortion is neanderthal and that rape kit story is just plain evil but here's another reason: You're going to be seeing her again.

John McCain is not a threat to Obama and increasingly, it seems he realises that. The lousy campaigning, the gaffe a day talking points, the atrocious speaking style, John McCain has given up. He knows that he can't honestly win this election and while his masters are still going to try, they're starting to believe that too and setting their sights on 2012.

There are already reports that Palin has become the star of the Republican ticket. She's realtively young, vaguely good-looking and by 2012, her inexperiance will be gone. What you're left with is a vaguely personable religious fanatic with extreme-right-fringe views, just like Bush.

27. Well, hell, doesn't the Mayan calendar say the world is going to end in 2012?
Miss Piggy may just be the facilitator.

33. No it doesn't
The Mayan's calendar reaches the end of its current cycle in 2012. It does not mean the world is going to end.

8. Maybe, maybe not
After all, Chimpy campaigned as a varguely centreist, bipartisan reformer (notice that everyone campaigns as a reformer these days?) when his record said exactly the opposite. If 2012 doesn't work out, 2016 is going to be another wide open election since Joe Biden will be (I think) 77 by then.

14. I agree, it appears she is becoming less attractive daily the more people
find out about her. Her numbers are going down, people are nervouse about her right-wing neo-con views. I even think when Barack wins this thing and she has to go back home, she is not going to win any popularity contests there as well.

Sure, she will keep the same base that still believes in Bush, what is that around 19/20%.

41. It depends on how well they manage to attribute the bush legacy to Obama
You know they're going to try really really hard to pin his failures on Dems. They've already started with that shit.

It's not what happens it's how people percieve it to have happened.

Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 02:23 PM by Blue_In_AK
on Sarah's future. Much depends on how "well" she does in this losing campaign. After her stonewalling here and the shut-down of our executive and judicial branches by the McCain goons, she may be in trouble as far as being re-elected governor, but she could possibly run in the Senate primary against Lisa Murkowski in 2010. This would be good because if she won, it would get her out of the state, and we could forget about her, much like we did Frank Murkowski when he was in DC for 20 years.

9. I seriously doubt it. The party leaders know she's a liability.
I suppose it depends on how much influence the 'focus on the family' crowd maintains.

I still think she was an impulsive decision that Angry McCain made.

She will sink faster than an ice floe in the South Pacific.

Although she's a reptile and appeals to the worst members of our celebrity obsessed "nation", her gaffes and poisonous rhetoric are going to cause her to be shipped back to Alaska, where she won't win another term. She's been exposed for what she is - vacuous, vicious and self obsessed. It will not stand her in good stead. When 2012 comes around she'll be no more ready than she is today.

The R's braintrust (if you can call it that) knows they're screwn this year. And are any of them truly enthralled with Romney or Huckabee as the leading candidates for 2012?

So they roll out Palin to the wild applause of the baying-hyena base in an attempt to conjure up their own counter-Obama.

26. Well the better get a better groomer.
The more she is seen the more she is seen to suck. She not that good looking, and the more shes seen the more it shows. Same with her grating voice. The longer she goes the more deceptive sh is perceived.

The only way this dog with lipstick looks good in any manner is by just a quick glance after the lights come on. The longer the look and the brighter the light the worse she looks.

I sincerely doubt Palin will win another election in Alaska. From what I can tell, both Democrats and conservatives are not happy with flip-flopping Sarah "Hold me accountable/I refuse to cooperate with the Troopergate investigation" Palin. She got in this time because she wasn't Frank Murkowski, but I think more and more people are waking up to the fact that she might be worse than Murkowski.

She and her family will be under a microscope for the next four years, and I doubt the graveyard in her closet will stay buried... They cannot turn her loose now, because they fear she will start speaking from her own mind, and that is a long time to keep her shut up.
