Don't Bail Out the SOBs, Nationalize Them!
No bailout, NO NO NO. IF ANY financial institution wants to be bailed out, and such a bailout may actually help the public interest, then nationalize them! If it's going to take taxpayers $$$ then taxpayers should own the greedy SOBs..

6. Sounds good to me. Do this right and
we could have Socialize Medicine in this country.
wouldn't that torque them off knowing that because of their crimes, something good came of it.

2. I've been saying that for a while now.
Any potential profits in the future should go back into the treasury.

3. Yes, taxpayer ownership was suggested by an expert on NPR today, too.
It's so much better - with ownership, at least we get a vote for the board of directors.

7. And the oil companies and refineries too, hah, hah.
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 06:35 PM by Abugface
The threat of nationalization of those domestic refineries that are always having trouble, and all the oil leases into a National Oil Company might reduce the giveaways to big oil. We could pull a Mexico and make the multinationals deal with it, the US equivalent of Pemex or even Russia's Gazprom.

8. It's ironical how the talking-heads in our UK corporate media used to
mock the French for their nationalised banks. The French had learnt from WWII.

They even had the bare-faced gall to mock the German economy, which they were pleased to dub as a "rust-bucket economy"! Even after taking over East Germany, they have prospered. Indeed, they were substantially in surplus last year!
