CNN's John King puts out what seems Biased report on Florida Opti-Scan Voting Count Machines.
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 04:51 PM by KoKo01
He starts off showing the infamous "Chad Counting" in 2000 then moves over to some guy named Sid Dinerstein who says the voting in Palm Beach is a mess because they had to switch from "...reliable Touch Screen Machines to the OptiScans with paper ballots" that are making a mess of everything. He called the switch a "...waste of money" and John King then goes on and fishes the piece with "vote by absentee."

I found it a very biased report from John King who has grown more and more suspiciously a voice for the Repugs.

I don't know who Sid Dinerstein is...maybe MadFloridian or other Florida Dems here who know the scene could tell me why Sid got John King's ear to promote DRE's.

1. The silver lining is that Florida will use optical-scan ballots statewide this year...
...and John King's report about how wonderful paperless-voting supposedly is won't stop that.

2. Voting machines can't be hacked...they have special screws to keep machines intact.

This republican voting bullshit never stops in every state they are going to purge the poor, workers, minorities, and other democratic voters, they aren't going allow many democrats to vote as few as possible...republicans know they can do as they please because after the election is too late for the democratic voters who are victims to do much of anything...one the republican is announced the winner....(and republicans know this very well and why they continue to steal, lie & cheat in all elections.

Republican discovered long ago they can't win many elections without cheating....Which is why they wrote the bullshit 2002 Help America Vote Act (HAVA) which makes it incredibility easy for republican corporations who own the electronic voting machines to easily hack the machines in the republicans favor, which they have done countless times since 2002 all over the country ....

There will be not enough voting machines in predominantly democratic areas all around the country, Democratic registration have and will continue to be disposed and toss out...They will stop many Dems from voting with the republicans vote ID bullshit....It's disgusting put a few vote here and a few votes there add up to millions of Dems around the country whose votes won't be counted....on top of that along with the easily hackable (in 18 seconds) republican owned electronic voting machines flipping votes early in the morning...the republicans stay in office and once announced as the winner...there is nothing Dems can do about it.

Newly released video shows how easily electronic voting machines can be hacked, pried open in 18 seconds.

3. I dunno but the optiscans are the only acceptable solution...
they can be hand counted if necessary and far less open to interpretation (see chad,hanging...)

Touchscreen is a disaster for any number of reasons including a number of totally innocent ones.

5. I don't know the Dinerstein guy, but I do know they will blame opti-scans
They literally lost the ballots in Palm Beach, so any excuses they give are bull hockey.

They lost, then found some, then found more, they filed them where they did not belong.

They are spinning.

They ended up with too many ballots.

7. Be very suspicious of those who dis paper ballots; very suspicious
I was at the polls in the primary and this poll judge (whoever those guys are who sit at the table, I mean) was telling all the seniors to use electronic voting because "it's much easier." I said, quite loudly, as I stood in line: "How do we know that these machines aren't rigged? There are is no paper trail to prove how you have voted!" (I live in C(r)ook County, IL, after all.)
