The real and true frame for this whole economic meltdown |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 07:31 PM by Indenturedebtor
The pukes are all trying to frame individual bills and individual Democrats for this problem and that problem. They're trying to say "See they helped us ruin everything so they're just as bad."
What they're trying to draw attention away from is the fact that their entire philosophy/ideology/approach towards government is garbage. The whole idea of a completely unregulated market that allows companies to do whatever they feel like in the pursuit of profit is a completely bankrupt philosophy. This financial collapse was inevitable from the first time some fat cat uttered the words "Deregulation".
This is their baby. Just because some weak blue dog Dems went along with it here or there, the Democratic Party has traditionally and historically CONSISTENTLY opposed this deregulation idea. Don't let anyone try to pin this mess on us without telling them that pretty much every economist in the world agrees, along with the recently reformed John McBush, that deregulation is to blame for this meltdown.
They are essentially admitting that their entire approach towards economics and government has been a terrible idea for the last 20-30 years. Don't let any douchenozzle get away with pinning this on us with their "Democrats are just as bad! See there's a Democrat that spouts Republican ideals!"
Tell them plainly "I wouldn't vote for that asshat either. Lets find a candidate that has more traditional Democratic values so that this mess never happens again."
Edited to add:
Good government is about good ideas. It's not about individuals so much as it's about the ideas that guide and direct those individuals. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. When politicians are short on judgement and ideas, they try to make an election about "character and values". Don't let them pull the wool over your eyes current Republicans. They're ideas are bankrupt and this current economic meltdown PROVES IT!

2. They're trying to blame poor people again as well |
|
I even hear some on DU blaming people who've lost their jobs and houses or were suckered into baloon payments.
If banks and individuals were REGULATED then those loans wouldn't have been made in the first place. Banks didn't used to be able to offer those loans, but that regulation was stripped away! It's the deregulation that's to blame!
