Rachel Maddow was Right on Tonight's Show- the Apocalypse of Conservative Freemarket Ideology
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 04:24 AM by JCMach1
We are witnessing the end-game of Reaganism and Chicago School economics... everything is coming home to roost at the same time.

Maybe it's time to explain to people we must move from a model that gets government 'off your back' to a model where government 'has your back'.

Reagan is dead- grab a shovel

For Maddow's video and commentary on the crisis go to her MSNBC site: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/

then click on "Economic bailout: huh?"

Anyone else see last night's show?

2. Obama has my permission to use that during the debates- LOL... it's a simple
way of putting forward the changes in 'ideology' that Obama needs to clarify for people.

Reaganism is dead! Obama needs to DEFINE what replaces it.

So far the election has been fought on personality and policy. The economic crisis introduces, for the first time in a long time, ideology into the mix.

4. I am WAY impressed by Dr. Maddow.
The way she laughed in Pat Buchanan's face last night was priceless. The Cons have no defense against that! She appears to go on the air heavily armed with facts and her poise looks unshakable. Though much given to glee and smiling at idiocy, she's pretty even-handed IMO.

She is worthy of mention in the same breath as Murrow and Cronkite. If NBC had two brain cells left, she would be anchoring Nightly News--WOULD have been anchoring for two or more years by now. Maddow is SO good that I don't even care if I miss Olbermann.

She is such a killer at what she does that MSNBC will be forced to find some pretext for cancelling her show.

6. You can tell she really likes Pat, too.
Which makes it so funny when she shreds him.

8. Raygun is DEAD. His policies live on, but we are in the process of doing something
about that. Raygun and trickle on "voodoo" economics is a flat and stinky piece of roadkill.

10. Ronnie the Raygun: the Great Bullshit Artist.
Tearing down the walls of the Great Society even after death.

Open the crypt, exhume the body and drive a stake through its heart.

9. I'd rather
Maddow remain a commentator so she can really let go with how she feels. I still like KO. It's good to see a strong show after him. I hope her numbers stay up.

11. unfortunatly you will find most rw's staying with the sinking ship
they believe that deregulation is the way to go and it is liberal policies that are sinking the economy. AND it is unfortunate that most cannot really think very well for themselves and notice that they had complete control of this ship for most of the last 8 years.

16. They are like the monkey with the hand full of candy stuck in the jar
if they would just let go they could escape the hunter but instead they just hang on tighter because they want that candy so bad. what makes it worse is to see some people I know who are NOT rich but think they are cuz they keep supporting tax cuts for the rich when they don't even qualify as middle class. Me pointing out they aren't millionaires never seem to make an impression :(

13. More, even...
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 07:34 AM by BraneMatter
we are seeing naked capitalism run wild in all its glory.

As Marx pointed out, this is what capitalism does, this is what it is.

Rachel is right on the money (pardon the pun)...

The government has ALWAYS been there, mostly on the side of big money, not the people. There is an incestous relationship between the politicians and the rich robber barons of Wall Street, which is a damned good reason NOT to trust them with the money now.
