BUSH BUTCHERY

September 23, 2008 --

SHARON Bush still wants her pound of flesh. President Bush's former sister-in-law, who was dumped by his brother, Neil, several years ago for another woman, has teamed up with best-selling author and lawyer Mark Smith to pen "Bushology," a none-too-flattering look inside the Bush dynasty. We're told they've brought the outline and several chapters to agent Marianne Strong, who's shopping the proposal. Apparently the word is out, as Sharon already got a call from her ex-husband, who's said to be furious about the exposé.

TRUE BELIEVER

GOD-dismissing writer Christopher Hitchens didn't believe in horoscopes, either - until they told him he'd score with women. At a Templeton Foundation luncheon at the Pierre yesterday, Washington Post veteran Sally Quinn recalled how the booze-loving author of "God Is Not Great" once "attacked me" over the paper running an astrology column, insisting it was total nonsense. Until one day, Quinn said, when "Christopher had to admit that he'd read his horoscope and it said, 'A member of the opposite sex is interested and will show it.' Then he got interested."

PREZ WILL NOT BE HIDING IN BUSHES

GEORGE W. Bush, soon to be former president of the United States of America, ex-commander in chief of the Armed Forces, prior leader of the free world, is not leaving immortality to go back to the cowflop of Crawford, Texas. Although he might still keep that ranch because after his years in the Oval Office he may be addicted to manure, I know for a 100 percent fact it's not where he permanently plans to hang his signed photos.

In four months Mr. and Mrs. Bush move to a town outside Dallas called Preston Hollow, one of the wealthiest areas in the oil-rich state of Texas. Houses come with horse stables, lake views, mountain views, golf club views. Kiddies, mother is telling you do not cry for Argentina - or Dubya. He's not going from the White House to any cockamamie cramped two-bedroom apartment with hot- and cold-running mortgages. Laura does not beat around the Bushes. She's been to their new home, checked it out, and it's a big house on five acres. Their broker is the Lone Star State's premier Realtor Allie Beth Allman. George and Laura are going top cabin all the way.

So far this is - or was - top secret around Dallas.

1. There aren't any mountains around Dallas
Huh?

"Houses come with horse stables, lake views, **mountain views**, golf club views."

Unless they're talking about the mountains of lies that follow Bunnypants wherever he goes

2. As someone who lives in McLennan County, Texas
I say good riddance!

Actually, Crawford area itself is nice. My sympathy to Dallas...

But has anyone ponied up for hosting the library?
