Tina Fey's SNL Palin "outrage"
It's been a very long time since I've seen Saturday Night Live at all, let alone watched faithfully, so I'm totally clueless about the stories I've seen about the outrage over Fey's impersonation of Whackjob McPalin on the show recently. Can anybody clue me in regarding the "sexism" and "outrage"? Thanks!

2. Tina did her as political cheesecake
which she does have that aspect, no question.

AFIK, it's at the NBC web site.

4. PALIN LIKES THAT IMAGE..she fosters it..so she cannot cry sexist
She's never met a photo-op she didn't like, and she loves the image of "sexiest governor"...

11. actually, Palin supposedly got a kick out of it...
to give the devil her due. It was others in the Palin/McCain campaign who got their knickers in a twist.

5. It was spot on. Tina played it perfectly
the voice and mannerisms etc. It was a mock press conference between Palin and Clinton and Palin came off dumb as dirt, it rawked.

6. Some people think the portrayal made Palin look stupid and slutty
I, however, think the impersonation was spot on. Palin, imho, lacks both substance and the ability to tell the truth. Instead she resorts to one-liners and flirty behavior to "charm" people.

9. SNL
Seriously...? SNL is a show that PARODIES real life events, people, etc...They took a whack at BOTH Palin and Hillary. You don't hear Hillary or her supporters crying foul. They have taken shots at Obama as well. It is very typical for Republican sycophants to denigrate their opponents, but the moment someone says anything remotely sharp back, they scream bloody murder.

Pay no attention to it.

12. It's the same way with right wing fundie religion
these folks drone on and on about how strong their faith is and how Jesus is their sure foundation and all of that, but in actuality they seem terrified that a stray TV show or book or movie could set them and their children on the path to damnation. In spite of their hatred of Big Gummint they expect government at all levels to actively protect them from anything that challenges their beliefs. These folks need constant "stroking," which does not speak of a strong faith to me.
