Rush into war. Rush into a $700 billion bail-out. No thought, no debate. Rush, rush, rush, NOW.
This nation has allowed itself to become so incurious and so unthoughtful, just like our monkey leader. Enough.

2. October 2002, shortly before a federal election... |
|
...is when Congress passed "The Iraq War Resolution."
Ideally, they would have learned not to let Bush rush them.
Congress should slowly consider a wide range of ways to help the economy, and pass its next major legislation after we have a new president.

6. But, looks like it will happen again. |

The Democrats fear being 'wrong' on the bailout and I don't see them standing up to stop it. It's just like Iraq. Repubs have shrewdly presented this as an end of the world scenario (which just happens to benefit, in huge ways, a lot of their friends on Wall Street). Democrats almost are forced to go along. If they don't there is a risk that the economy goes south in the next month and they would be blamed. Could hurt Obama's chances.
I'm against the bailout and willing to wait and see what happens company by company, as the poor performance by a lot of investment firms takes it's toll. Even if the bailout is approved, there is no way it should be a number pulled out of the air, like $700B!

7. Congress had BETTER have their f*cking eyes open on this one |
|
* and company are doing the same shit they did to get their "Patriot" act, their war, illegal wire tapping, etc.
Just reading the thread on the hearings is infuriating. Pass it NOW, don't ask questions, daddy knows best, JUST TRUST US.

9. Indeed!! Yet another attempt by the Bushies to STAM-PEDE us! |
|
Time to JUST SAY NO!
If any action is to take place at all, it should only be after extensive testimony is given in congress by those wanting AND those opposing the bailout, and then all action should be deferred until after the election. Even then, no Bushies in charge of any money.
