Anyone else not getting their mortgage bills on time?
Strange...our mortgage is with HSBC. They are always on top of our payments...we're used to calls looking for payment, even though we always pay same month. Thank Gawd, we've got a mortgage that is easily managed within our budget. But this month, nothing. We tried to call the hotline to find out why we didn't get the notice this month...no answer. Come to find out, our mortgage is underwritten by Fannie Mae. Is our experience unique? Is the Fannie Mae collapse stopping mortgage companies from billing/collecting payments?

1. We got ours electronically and had the payment pulled
directly about a week before the due date. It's paid off, now. We were lucky and got a 10 year refi about 11 years ago.

4. LOL. Not really.
We paid it off because we've got one in college and another on the way. There's only so much to go around. LOL.

3. Fannie Mae
may have underwritten the mortgage, but who actually services the mortgage? i.e. who do you send your payment too.

6. Here's a follow-up question.
Would the mortgage industry be playing games to make the need for a bailout look worse than it is? Excuse my paranoia, but I wonder if they would be delaying billing so they could report a bigger level of delinquencies?

8. I doubt that there is any intentional effort to increase delinquencies
Most likely HSBC is having problems because they've laid off a bunch of people, and had a lot of others quit.

7. No problem with statements from Countrywide
Bummer about HSBC. I'm glad you are savvy enough to make your payments, bill or no bill.
