Analysis of the Presidents who are responsible for the debt
Could some of the more brilliant economic minds at DU confirm the accuracy of this chart?

Note the comments on how the Bush admin. has minipulated the data

1. Well, it agrees with other charts of the same kind I've seen before.
The vast majority of United States debt was accumulated under Reagan and Bush-II.

2. I'll tell you another chart I'd love to see...
Which is a plot of debt over time, overlaid with which party controlled Congress. Better yet, a scatterplot of (Rep-members)-(Dem-members) versus (increase in deficit for that Congressional Term).

I bet the correlation between those two numbers is high, and statistically very sound.

6. I can vouch for it. That is correct.
The big spenders are

George W. Bush
Ronald Reagan
George H.W. Bush

They averaged a deficit of $375 Billion per year for the 20 years of their budgets.

Clinton and Carter averaged about $123 Billion per year deficit for their 12 combined years.

This is the reality: Fiscal Conservatives are not fiscally conservative at all. It's a huge LIE. They ARE the reason the federal debt exists.

8. True! And the economy is stronger for Democratic presidents.
People forget that Carter had one bad year, and it was the last one. And the bottom was hit under Reagan, not Carter.
