This Bailout Vote could be the most interesting Vote...Ever...
Republicans want to blackmail Democrats into voting for it, but then they, Republicans, will vote against it.

Democrats now know their game, but worry that that Republicans will vote for it in the end.

Toxic if you vote FOR it...

Toxic if you vote against it and the economy crashes before the election...

"You vote first..."

"No, Please, after you..."

"No, I insist..."

2. Not so sure GOPers want to vote in favor of it
Freepers are saying Rush is against it
Politico is saying GOPers revolted against Cheney in the meeting this morning
Newt came out publically against it
Club for Growth said no, no way. Will fight against anyone voting yes.

It is starting to appear GOPers don't like it MORE than the Dems.

3. Exactly, they're counting on the fact that they can blackmail Democrats into a yes vote...
Make no mistake, they want to give Paulson the money.

They just don't want to pay the price politically.

4. Not sure how getting their base to be against the bailout
having Rush, Newt, Politico and CFG pushing articles against it, will help them when they finally vote yes. Appears to me they are making sure they will pay a big price if they go against the fervor they are stirring.

6. Logrolling. Watch for it
There will be vote trading to get this grand theft bill passed. I hope the democrats who are not bought off can get enough oversight and some modicum of fairness inserted before it is inserted in America's collective ass.
