Right, there is a big conspiracy by 1000s of investors with competing interests to scare Congress. Yep, sure there is. :eyes:

they're asking for billions of dollars & congress looks like it's not going to give it away. I've seen too much shit the past 8 years to put anything past anyone.

2. That's what happens when you remove short sellers |
|
from the market. There is nothing to stop downside acceleration. I'm LMAO at the stupidity of it all.

9. How do short sellers stop downside acceleration? Short sellers weren't removed, btw, |
|
except from financials.
Shorts could only stop downside if they needed to be covered. Shorts only need to be covered if they are going up. Otherwise, they accelerate the downside.

3. Not so unusual. This has been typical for a few months now. |
|
In spite of institution/market maker-driven rallies during the day (or even one-or-two-day rallies), this is still a down-and-dirty bear market.

8. I watched Paulson all morning. In my opinion, he's about the crack. |
|
If the Senators will keep grilling him for a couple of more days, I believe that he will have a complete meltdown right on National TV.

7. Down 133 at close. This isn't bad at all. If fact if it could settle in to |
|
an up and down of no more than 200 points it would be good. That would encourage the Congress to postpone action until after the election.

13. -166 is no problem. The market is naturally volatile. Under the |
|
circumstances, I'd say that the -166 is rather calm.

17. It's a bear market. These types of numbers have been happening since about July of this year. |
|
I loved the WSJ story about the trader who stood up amongst his shocked colleagues and vowed to vote for Obama so that this market could get fixed.
It would be nice to know which way is up.

18. Not enough to worry about in terms of a major crash. |
|
However, anyone with equities that are falling at the same rate might want to think about making a move.
