This mess didn't "happen" |
|
the war didn't "happen"
the credit crunch/housing meltdown didn't "happen"
Someone, some people MADE them "happen"...
earthquakes "happen".. shit "happens":)
economic catastrophes & wars are CREATED.. A lot of careful planning goes into their creation, and great attention is paid to every detail.

1. Even Carlo Ponzi didn't intend to create a catastrophe |
|
He was a sleaze who only saw short term gains and was incapable of planning long term. He thought he'd know when to quit. He didn't, any more than the hedge fund managers who were being lauded in the financial press as recently as last year for having pay packages in the hundreds of millions of dollars because they were so very much smarter than the rest of us.
That's the real problem. These guys think quarterly. The best of them might even think annually. None of them is capable of thinking farther ahead than that.
That's why the government needs to be run by people who are capable of thinking long term, and that isn't businessmen.
This catastrophe wasn't engineered. It was created by men who thought those quarterly profits would last forever.

4. amen to that brother, and they've been thinking long and hard |

about how to bring the American worker to his knees (generic term, I include women, transgendered, gay, etc, also)
The powers that control the money flow had many late night meetings about luring in the suckers and planting time bombs. They knew exactly what it would take to kill the dream of everyone except themselves. This is their last chance before their buddies leave office (if they do).

5. I keep hearing in my head the Bush quote about how he's working on ways |
|
to keep us in Iraq after he leaves office. Can this be connected to the supposed news of Iraq surpluses in their economy? If Iraq, with new oil contracts, is poised to generate billions with exports and reconstruction, how much to we need to profit off that to balance out the disasters? You know, we've had periods where some aspect of our economy has driven economic growth...in the past it's been manufacturing, real estate development, tech, housing debt. What's next? Imperialism in the middle east? What role does the huge increase in foreign debt play in this?
I'm not sure what the connection is but I agree that there's some choreography to this that goes back a couple decades....Carlylse group would know.

The republican's use of the passive voice to distance themselves from their debacles is sickening
