Only 25 percent of Americans support bailout plan
.....but as we know, our elected officials have long ago stopped giving a damn what Americans think.

from ThinkProgress:

Only 25 percent of Americans support bailout plan.»

A new Rasmussen poll conducted on Monday finds that 44 percent of Americans oppose the Bush administration’s $700 billion bailout plan, up from 37 percent a day earlier. Twenty-five percent support it, and 31 percent are undecided. Thirty-five percent believe it will help the economy, while 30 percent say it will hurt it. (HT: LA Times)

1. Democrats should oppose the bailout, not help it.

2. Let me cipher this out...
1% (Ultra-hyper-super-rich) + 24% (Ultra-hyper-super-stupid-still-Bush-supporters) = 25% Total.

Yes! This poll is accurate!

 Good to go!

Yep.

4. This pisses me off
I'm getting more and more pissed off about this bailout. I can't even read anything more about it or I might explode. Wake me when it's over, and hopefully with the news that congress rejected the bailout.

5. In 1996 when the Japanese housing bubble burst...
the Japanese government wanted to use public money to bail out the failing mortgage companies, but tens of thousands of ordinary Japanese citizens took to the streets in protest.

Too bad Americans don't get stirred up about important stuff like the Japanese (and Europeans) do.
