The villains have the power and no institution above the rank of a self-informed John Q. Public can imagine ever summoning up the will to impeach them. We are a captive nation with residual democracy being blackmailed by the top. Pushing all this out from the bottom without getting into lose/lose violence or co-option or ignorance(enforced by propaganda and secrecy) or division(egged on hatred sown in general fear).
