Seems like an appropriate time to bring this up: Paraguay
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 06:51 PM by tpsbmam
Has this ever been debunked?

http://www.infowars.com/articles/bush/bush_land_deal_escape_to_paraguay.htm

At least two sources, including Upsidedownworld and Prensa Latina, report rumors of a Bush family purchase of land in northern Paraguay.

It suddenly popped in my head so that little tinfoil moment led me to look for this kind of information, which I found at our own US embassy site:

http://paraguay.usembassy.gov/volume_2.html

Paraguay is a principal money laundering center involving the banking and nonbanking financial sectors.

I'm just saying.

Removing tinfoil hat and returning to my normal boring geekitude.

Paraguay's Fernando Lugo alleges coup plot

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/world/latin-america-and-caribbean-politics/story/668689.html

Paraguay's president has warned of a possible coup plot against his new government, saying that rival politicians summoned a key military figure to gauge support for their political ambitions.

Nah, we've never backed a coup.....have we?

4. Those coup plotters are going right where Bolivia's coup plotters went. To Prison.
U.S. influence in Latin American is at an end.

6. That's what I'm referring to --
it was reported that they'd bought somewhere in the neighborhood of 100,000 acres. The question was then and remains now, is it rumor or fact. And if it's fact, why?
