John Stewart is Brilliant!
Nobody else has been able to draw Bill Clinton out like that in an interview in a very long time. He helped him express himself like nobody else has been able to do. I saw the Clinton I used to see way back when. Hopefully he'll be showing up everywhere for the next 5 weeks.

1. with an assist from Chris Rock
I'm sure some of that criticism was driving Clinton's cheerleading.

2. Y'know, I kinda don't think Clinton pays as much attention to Chris Rock as we do.
That kind of tunnel-visioned micro-intensity is not shared outside our world. It's not as if his comments set the world on fire, just DU.

3. Oh, I'm sure Bill knew all about Rock's
comments by this morning. Political figures can't afford to be that out of the loop.

4. But it wasn't much of a loop if it was only causing an uproar here.

And I believe that was the case. I don't think most people heard Rock's kibitzing the way avid DUers did. The manic-depressive "He's evil! No, he's great!" rhythms that typify DU and other partisan boards aren't going on much "out there," thankfully.
