Poll question: (Poll 1 of 3) How do you think your family would vote in this election?
Using the selections from Electoral-Vote.com, how would you rate the voting-eligible members of your family?

1. Unfortunately, our families tend to be smaller than the "others."

2. How "far out" do you mean by family?
Those eligible to vote in my immediate household?

Should one include their elderly parents/in-laws who don't live with them?

Should one include their mature siblings and their grown children?

etc.

I ask b/c I would vote very differently depending on how you want me to catergorize who "my family" is supposed to encompass for purposes of this 'poll'.

3. However you define it.
Some people only consider their immediate family, others include everyone they see every year (holidays, etc) so, I just leave it up to the poll-taker.

4. My mom is undecided, my brother only make Libertarian jokes,
and I don't have the faintest idea of what ANY of my father's political ideologies are.

With extended family, I would say 50/50(depending on where they live)

6. we don't talk politics much in my family, but I estimate
out of the seven registered voters, there would be at least three McCain voters, one Obama voter, one as yet undecided, and two I don't know enough about their political leanings to discern who they'd be for. This is something we just don't discuss when we get together, and I'm a bit amazed that so many people do talk about such a contentious subject at family gatherings.

10. I understand, it wasn't directed at you, I just see so many posts where
people argue about it with friends and family. People rarely change each others minds about this stuff in my experience, and it often leads to hard feelings. My family and I don't see eye to eye on a lot of political issues. We agree to disagree and move on. I don't love them any less for being on the other side.

11. I think many of these types of posts just let people know they aren't alone.
It can be a comfort to people who are just reading to know that they're family isn't as oddball as they might have first thought.

7. My family is my two children and me,
and we are Obama loyalist. Then there is my sister and her husband who I think are voting Obama. My ex says he is voting Obama. The rest I don't know about because I don't interact with anyone else.
