Tar and Feathers? Yes or No
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 06:18 AM by Philosoraptor
Should the crooks be tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail, AFTER retrieving our stolen moneys?

Is this torture by bush's contemporary standards?

Isn't tarring and feathering the traditional American thing to do?

1. Yes, No, Yes
It was done to the King's tax collectors so that's good enough for me.

this would appear to violate the VIII Amendment to the Constitution.

10. The definition of"Cruel and unusual" has changed over the years
The writers of the Constitution did not consider the same things cruel and unusual that we do today.
To them stocks and lashing were acceptable. What they were against was drawing and quartering, the wheel and similar.
