Who's Responsible?
---

Which party's core philosophy is centered around "deregulation"?
Which party wants to role back oversight safeguards established under FDR's New Deal?

Which party wrote and sponsored legislation which rolled back the Glass-Steagall Act thus allowing commercial and investment banks to consolidate?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gramm-Leach-Bliley_Act

True, many in the Democratic Party were complicit in this (Bill Clinton signed legislation into law) but politics is always a matter of, "to what degree".

By a large degree, the Republican Party is holding the majority of responsibility for this.

1. Bill Clinton signed the legislation because there was a veto-proof RePig majority in the Senate
You left that out.

Kind of an important detail.

4. I guess I am confused
---

I was under the impression that a President would stand for what he believed no matter what Congress put forward.

7. And waste time?
Burdening Congress by requiring them to over-ride vetoes is a waste of time for our president and legislators.

The battle was lost.

5. Limbaugh-listening ex said...
"The policies of FDR are coming home to roost."

I am finding it impossible to get into their brains and even conceive of what they are thinking. Can anyone else TRY to interpret their viewpoint?

DU is my only source of sanity as I'm surrounded by all Limbaugh-listening types.

I really try to see all sides so I can engage intelligently and understand where they may be coming from...even if it's misinformed...but I don't know where to start when they don't see ANY blame on the part of the Republican Party. For anything.
