A Repub' double-reverse on the bailout?
First guy out of the gate on CSpan.. "no bail out..elite east coast fat cats" etc.

Repugs will hold up any and all legislation.. even well regulated, no golden parachute, massive oversight, equity laden, 50 Billion at a time, legislation...

They look like champions of the little guy.. we're on the side of "wallstreet cheaters"

What else can they do?

1. If we allow Schumer, Dodd and Franks to FORCE this bail out, then we are CORPORATISTS.

Dammit, tell them "NO!" This is not an emergency ... don't go "Patriot Act" on us now, democratic "leaders." :(

2. Yep, that's how they're positioning it...
I think some of the repug congresscritters are actually sincere and not viewing this strictly in political terms (much to Rove's dismay).

Maybe this will play into an Obama administration being extraordinarily effective on a bipartisan basis? Obama can perhaps start to take charge of this situation, since he will be walking into whatever is decided? Make McCain more irrelevant than he already is.

God, I'd love to know what goes on behind the scenes during times like this. When I die, I want to know the truth about JFK's assassination and then other pivotal moments in time such as this.

3. I don't think Nancy let's the legislation get to the floor unless
an overwhelming majority of Republicans support it.

4. I think that some delay won't rile the markets if it is CLEAR
what lines Congress is thinking along, and that it will move very soon..
