I just read Naomi Klein's artcle about Palin |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 09:55 AM by tavalon
She's fairly convinced that Palin is to be the pretty figurehead of a police state. While I agree with her regarding the fact that we are becoming fascist, I don't feel we're as far down the road as she does. But, in the event that she is right, this venue will be fairly rapidly cut off. How would you contact fellow DUers who would, in that environment, become rebels, I'm sure. But divided we are conquered.
Has anyone given any thought to this? You don't have to elaborate of course. I'm just putting out feelers to see if I'm the only freak musing about this.

4. Oh no. I have a close friend that I discuss this with frequently |
|
The question is not if the Repugs want to have a police state, but how they will go about installing it. And what will we do. I have been checking out Canada, but my instinct is to stay and fight.

7. But if you stay, you'll need a network |
|
How will that network communicate with other networks is what I'm trying to surreptitiously say?

9. Tavalon, remember the FISA Amendment. |
|
Remember that the content of laptops of citizens, we are talking about people who were born in this country or naturalized after waiting the statutory period, may be copied by Homeland Security agents at the border upon entry to the U.S. in violation of the Fourth Amendment. Guantanamo is still operating and people are still held there without being given their rights. And that FISA Amendment means that we will probably never know how much our government has snooped on us. Yes, dear Tavalon this is a police state.

Form alliances with Russia, Cuba and Venezuela. They would be the most willing to fight against a fascist America. Europe would follow suit closely behind, but more carefully, less ostensibly.
