LA Representative considering a "neutering" program for the poor

LaBruzzo considering plan to pay poor women $1,000 to have tubes tied
by Mark Waller, The Times-Picayune

Tuesday September 23, 2008, 10:40 PM

Worried that welfare costs are rising as the number of taxpayers declines, state Rep. John LaBruzzo, R-Metairie, said Tuesday he is studying a plan to pay poor women $1,000 to have their Fallopian tubes tied.

"We're on a train headed to the future and there's a bridge out, " LaBruzzo said of what he suspects are dangerous demographic trends. "And nobody wants to talk about it."

LaBruzzo said he worries that people receiving government aid such as food stamps and publicly subsidized housing are reproducing at a faster rate than more affluent, better-educated people who presumably pay more tax revenue to the government. He said he is gathering statistics now.

"What I'm really studying is any and all possibilities that we can reduce the number of people that are going from generational welfare to generational welfare, " he said.

3. Oh no, under his proposal, he'd gain additional tax incentives for reproducing
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 10:36 AM by PeaceNikki
"It also could include tax incentives for college-educated, higher-income people to have more children, he said.

LaBruzzo, 38, is white, married to a lawyer, has a toddler daughter and holds a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University."

Obviously, this junior nazi wannabe is ignorant of the history of the eugenics movement and where it started. Here's one article at http://hnn.us/articles/1796.html that covers the sordid history.

Hmm, I wonder if it is coincedence that the area he represents was represented by David Duke in the '90's? :puke:

Does that make it clearer?

Why do I have to be associated with all of those other disgusting attributes because of my housing?

I'm being called "trash" and lumped in with knuckle-draggers. That's how it's anti-poor.

38. Bullshit.
If you were trailer trash, you'd be posting on FR, not DU.

There are many, many people who live other than in trailers who are trailer trash. And there are many many people who do live in trailers, as I have on more than one occasion, who are not trailer trash.

Trailer trash has nothing to do with your housing, and everything to do with how you see the world.

37. All that lives in trailers is not trash
just as all that glitters is not gold.

Trailer trash is MEANT to be insulting. It is an insult to the redneck yahoos who put Bush in the white house, who fly confederate flags over their doublewide, who are proud to say they don't believe in all that science and evolutions stuff.

If you don't meet those criteria IT IS NOT TALKING ABOUT YOU!

OTOH, if you can't see the difference between living in a trailer and being trailer trash (many of whom do NOT live in trailers) then just maybe it is talking about you and your just trolling there.

Poverty does not make a person trash. Prideful ignorance makes a person trash.

If the shoe doesn't fit, don't fucking wear it.

You can also NOT live in a trailer yet still be trailer trash.

You can be the governor of Alaska and be trailer trash.

You can be my dad, born to a native American girl in Oklahoma in 1917 and dumped on the steps of an orphan's home who grew up to be decorated Marine veteran of WWII and got a college degree and became an accountant and not be trailer trash.

18. Let's castrate wealthy people.
Anyone making (let's say) ten times the minimum wage would be neutered, and not just tube-tying neutered, but neutered like a dog or a cat.

It would be a great incentive for Congress to raise the minimum wage, wouldn't it? If we did that I suspect the minimum wage would be so high that nobody in the U.S. would be poor.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWO4JxM3nDc

Efficiency and progress is ours once more
Now that we have the Neutron bomb
It's nice and quick and clean and gets things done
Away with excess enemy
But no less value to property
No sense in war but perfect sense at home:

The sun beams down on a brand new day
No more welfare tax to pay
Unsightly slums gone up in flashing light
Jobless millions whisked away
At last we have more room to play
All systems go to kill the poor tonight

Gonna
Kill kill kill kill Kill the poor:Tonight

Behold the sparkle of champagne
The crime rate's gone
Feel free again
O' life's a dream with you, Miss Lily White
Jane Fonda on the screen today
Convinced the liberals it's okay
So let's get dressed and dance away the night

While they:
Kill kill kill kill Kill the poor:Tonight

43. There are too many people. I'm for it...
Or would you prefer to just go on as is until there's massive die out due to disease or starvation? The only reason we are able to feed half of the human population now is because we can turn petroleum into food (natural gass into fertilizer, etc.). And that won't last forever.

Native Americans believed we were responsible for our descendants to the seventh generation. What kind of hell are we leaving our descendants?

And let's please consider that the more humans there are the less habitat there is for animal life. Because we don't control our numbers animals go extinct. This happens on a daily basis. It's wrong and it will catch up to us one day.

I don't care how we get there (within reason), but we need to reduce our numbers.

45. Oh so now we want to emulate Nazis?
Isn't this what the Third Reich wanted to do to keep inferior races from breeding? Why not give the children of those women a good education, and equal opportunity for employment instead, and see if it really is generational? Also, give those women all the help they need for family planning because studies have proved that when women are in charge of their fertility, birth rates go down.

I am amazed that people still think this way. :eyes:

Free tubal ligations and vasectomies. Pure choice, money doesn't enter into it. If the poor women wants a tubal ligation, she gets one....no questioned ask, no money exchanging hands.

If a rich woman wants one, she gets one free as well.

Hell, throw in free birth control too while your at it.

It is loaded down with people who think this idea is the greatest thing ever, because they want something done about "those people".

Frankly if there's a group of "those people" who ever needed to be, ahem, taken care of, it's the people posting about how great this would be for fixing the problem of the poor. Perhaps mandatory sterilization for anyone who posted how great this is on that site would be a start.
