Look what CNN has on their front page right now.

http://cnn.com

I'm sure this will be the new RW talking point for the next week.

I saved a screenshot:

1. So? They're mocking her for lying about it, not for the pointlessness of it.

2. well this is how they're spinning it
I guess you're saying they're attacking her for lying and flipflopping, and the issue doesn't matter?

Personally I think both are valid issues. This takes 50% of the wind out of the sail.

it would certainly be better if they hadn't voted for it !

5. They didn't request the bridge or the funds, and they weren't campaigning
on opposing it. I actually think it's a mistake for GOPers to keep bringing up the bridge, because while everyone knows it was bad pork NOW, the fact that Palin RAN for 2006 on supporting it is probably not something they want brought up again. Obama, Biden, and the other lawmakers didn't know nearly as much about the project as Palin, and she wanted the damn thing.

They don't mock the bridge, they mock her for lying.
I do see how this non-issue will be hyped ala "lipstick on a pig" and am not looking forward to witnessing more ignorance being paraded around the media.

4. Weird...
1> Why are they putting Biden fist there?

2> And that's not the point.

The point is that Palin is lying about her opposition. Over and Over and Over.

Did Obama or Biden LIE about opposing the bridge? And I see that the measure to continue the bridge funding at the time was overwhelmingly in favor.

This is just crap to muddy the water.

6. The original bill passed 93 - 1 - McCain was absent.
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 02:02 PM by Jim__
The amendment was turned down by 82 senators. If the repukes use that, Obama/Biden should be able to turn it around on them.

7. what else was in the bill?
and why should Sarah Palin's lying about her support of the bill have anything to do with Obama or Biden? They aren't the ones who accepted funds for their state, for something they supported until they became nominees and then spouted off about their 'maverick-stance' of opposing it.
