National Enquirer: Sarah Palin Lover revealed
Source: National Enquirer

In a world exclusive The NATIONAL ENQUIRER names GOP VP Candidate Sarah Palin's secret lover!

No less than three members of the man’s family including one by sworn affidavit have claimed that Sarah Palin engaged in an extramarital affair with husband Todd’s former business partner, Brad Hanson.

These sources have named Hanson as Palin’s secret love, and say their affair nearly wrecked both their marriages.

Hanson owned a snowmobile dealership with Palin’s husband Todd, who immediately dissolved the partnership after he heard stories about the affair, which occurred around 1996, according to the sources. At the time, Palin was mayor of Wasilla.

As much as I hate to cite the Enquirer, and at the risk of this getting relegated to the forums, thought this might prove interesting / titillating.

11. At THIS level of celebrity, the NE would no way print this story if they didn't have the proof.
They'd get their asses sued off by the highest powered attorneys in the country and they know it.

This story is definitely true.

They've been burned enough. If it's in the Star or some other rag, could be entirely fake. But in the NE, it is very likely true.

8. There are a few times you have to sacrifice principle....
Sarah Palin would be a disaster for the country and the world. If the Enquirer ends up bringing her down, then so be it. And, in her case, it would be fair, since she trots out her dysfunctional family whenever she can as if they are stars in her crown. If she's going to pretend to run on family values, she can crash and burn on family values as far as I'm concerned. She is really a frightening and despicable choice for McCain to have made, which really puts his own judgement in a bad light.

12. Magoo sicced his team of rabid lawyers on the Enquirer
about this two weeks ago. I guess the Enquirer fought back by getting the affidavits.

Want to bet our great men of the press are as silent as a tomb about this?

Their immediate trumpeting of Edwards's affair shows their hypocrisy.

At least Palin's base does tend to read the tabloids.

21. This is not good news.
This will a) distract from Palin's REAL shenanigans, immunizing her against them by lumping them together as tabloid material and b) may generate sympathy for her with a backlash that could hurt our chances.

At this point, anyone who supports Palin is a diehard fundie who would not believe anything negative even if she ate her baby on live TV. So this revelation will not help at all.

26. Edwards' support was mostly from logical, thinking and well-informed people
Palin's support on the other hand is from bible-thumping, abortion-clinic-bombing, gun-touting, warmongering, gay-bashing, trailerpark hicks who won't change their minds. They will write this off as non-credible "they just want to hurt poor innocent Sarah" and vote for her even more fervently.

It shouldn't matter.

However, since we don't have a mature political landscape and sex scandals are put above issues, let her have it.

She is the worst kind of human being. Let's expose her to the truth.

61. A broken clock is right twice a day
The NE reached its quota for a while when they published the Edwards-had-an-affair story.

I suppose I'll see this next time I'm waiting in a checkout line. This goes back to the usual NE fair: I either don't believe it or don't care, and most often neither believe it nor care.

78. FReeper attempt at debunking
The rumor I read was that they had film of Palin and “her lover” in Cancun or Acapulco. Given that she is criticized for never having a passport of left the US.

No passport required (at least at the time).

79. I feel sorry for
all the conservatives who really thought Palin was such a
great christian. I could see more lies unraveling as the days
go by. Not a surprise at all. I just wonder what's next.

91. Could be; I thought maybe it was because I'm trying to access it from the UK.

Dunno why that would make a difference, though.

93. Heh... not likely with them, no, but it did happen to me with the GWB website during 2004.

Those dumbshits actually did block access to the campaign website from outside the US.

I still have the screenshot.
