Let's see now, as president he would just postpone the tough jobs in favor of something he'd rather do, right?

19. Any bill that has McCain's fingerprints on it is one that anyone with a BRAIN would |
|
run away from as quickly as possible. Who is the economic moron going get to advise him? Phil (Americans are whiners) Gramm AKA Mr. Enron. Carly Fiorina fired CEO of HP with the $42 million golden parachute who spied on her employees and outsourced tens of thousands of jobs? Some other vile poster child for corporate malfeasance?
Hope McCain brings his slide rule and his copy of Ekonomicks $ Dummies.

I would say, "I'm working on it, now. And, this is the best time for us to talk to the American people about it. And, I can take a couple of hours off for the debate. In fact, I think we should change the subject matter of the debate from foreign policy to the economy."

I thought he wasn't going to go through with the debate.
He has looked very unhealthy for weeks now. He ran off the stage yesterday after he started to have a "senior moment". I think he is heavily medicated, but the meds aren't working properly.

35. How could it not? If he wants to stop campaigning cause he can't walk and chew gum at the same time, |

fair enough.
But to propose that a debate be cancelled? He can't spare a couple of hours?
Nonsense! Lunacy!
He should be embarrassed, as should his supporters. This is just pathetic. Flat-out pathetic.

34. Didn't McCain say last week that the economy is "Fundamentally Strong" |
|
And now he's running, or in his case riding his rascal scooter back to the white house to fix something that he feels is "Strong" The dipshit even said himself that he wasn't very well versed in economic policy.
Somethin stinks folks, bad, what the hell are they up to this time?

37. A repeat of how he cut and tried to run from his own RNC |
|
after panicking about watching Obama at the DNC. He pretended he was needed in the hurricane areas; in fact, there were tons of folks in charge there and his presence wasn't needed at all. He just didn't know what to do about a failing convention, and it was after that that he cam up with the wild shot Palin, once it was clear the hurricanes would not provide an excuse.
Same deal here - this is a campaign to elect a president in one of the scariest times I've seen. There is nothing more important than that, when I consider we have a whole Congress full already of bright senators, a whole House of Reps, a whole administration no matter how dumb they are. There are plenty of qualified people working on this issue.
Somehow, McCain thinks we need one more Senator on this, and esp. one who graduated 5th from the bottom of his class, says he knows zip about the economy, and in fact, said it was fundamentally strong last week?
Maybe he is going to Washington for the same reasons that Palin hit the U.N - a field trip as a crash course in something he knows nothing about. And of course, it is the perfect "excuse" in his mind to not do the debate, without shame.
This is Wednesday - the debate is Friday night. Only McCain can't handle doing more than one crisis at a time. He is unfit for office, and that is now an obvious fact.

he was the one always pushing for de-regulation- he helped out his buddies on the keating 5, his son was on the audit committee of a bank that failed last month...we'd be better off letting him stay as far away from it as possible.

|
He's been pretty useless coming up with any solutions in his career up to now, so what can we expect from him? Nada, zip, zilch. It's a ploy to make him look like he gives a damn. This guy who doesn't know how many houses he owns is going to "fix" our financial crisis. Yeah right!

39. If Obama had the gumption... |
|
...he could make some serious hay with this.
"Sarah Palin's running from the press while John McCain's running from the debates. And they want to be your leaders?"
This couldn't be more transparent. He's already stated his position. What's he going to do in Washington that can't be done from the road?

Look at this :
Republican presidential candidate John McCain announces he'll suspend his campaign and return to Washington in order to focus on the economic crisis. McCain also seeks to delay Friday's debate with Democratic rival Barack Obama.
I don't know how to start a new thread but this is bigger than a postponement - he's going to STOP campaigning?
he must know he's out of the game.
ETA: I did manage to start a new thread :)
