Internet troubles?

In recent weeks I have had a lot of trouble connecting with DU and, even moreso, linking to specific blogs, journals, etc., from the DU home page. This has been consistent, regardless of where I'm at, which computers I'm on, and which browser I'm using. Even when I do finally get the home page up I simply can't connect to any of the links...the connection "times out" before contact is made. DU isn't the only site where this has been happening (my email provider is another), but there are other sites (such as Wikipedia) that continue to pop up almost instantaneously. It's been a real drag not being able to read some of my favorite columns and rant in the discussion boards.

Anyhoo...has anybody else had similar experiences? Is this maybe due to increased traffic at DU as the election nears? Thanks for any thoughts.

1. I've also had problems with several sites over last two weeks

I nearly threw my cable modem through a window on more than one occasion!

Last two weeks lost DU and my email access.

Problems with Yahoo ( my mail ) DU.
Wiki and Google loads ok.
