Because? Because so much of the economic bad news ORIGINATES with mccain and his party.

mccain must've said it a thousand times, 'senator Obama refuses to join me in a town hall debate bla bla bla.

(Insert chicken sounds here)

1. He effectively wrapped himself in the flag, and declared himself immune
This gives him the time to deal with Rick Davis, the Palin blackout, and sinking polls, while pounding home his campaign theme of "America first".

Though it's a well played stategy in that he can now pretend the bailout can't go on without his "experienced hand" at the tiller, I don't think the move is without a counter move. Obama has to regain the inititive on a subject he has advantage over McCain....the economy.

The Obama camp has to move quickly however, in what is obviously a cheap campaign stunt exploiting the financial crisis.

America first my ass.

3. Obama should say we can just debate the economy instead of foreign policy
I see desperation and fear in the McCaint campaign

4. Well, I'm sure that if Obama wanted to postpone the debate he'd understand
- and the RW noise machine would be totally understanding..

5. What a wuss.
Really, is he serious? He should bring his buddy, Phil Gramm. I'm sure they would love to hear from him too.

6. First Bush-Cheney bailed out of the Repub convention
(though Shrub was eventually allowed to phone it in).

Now McCain bails out of his own debate.

At least Cheney has a secret bunker that McCain can borrow to hide out in.
