1. yep
Never bring a knife to a gun fight, Obama. You can't count on them to be honorable. Doublecrossing is what they do best.

2. They're dirty, but we're stupid.
What about the last 20 years of politics made the Obama campaign think it was a good idea to make "joint" anything with their opponents?

5. Obama appears to be playing this right, so far.
So that's very good news. But I still can't believe he offered a joint statement with McCain. The Dems should put a fucking moratorium on the word "bipartisan" for at least the next 8 years. Unless it is used in a sentence like "Fuck bipartisanship. The GOP is a failed and disreputable party that doesn't deserve the consideration of bipartisanship."

4. Agreed. You KNOW that when the GOP calls for "bipartisanship" they're yelling STAMPEDE!
It's the "Shock Doctrine" ... 'Shock And Awe' used as an attempt to stampede people. There is almost never been a more consistent example of the moral corruption of the "ends justifying the means" ... where the REAL objective is the 'means' proposed.

This is a raid on the Treasury. This is nothing but a massive attempt to enormously enrich the already-wealthy.

They don't permit or even support an analysis of the claimed "problem" and come up with a bullshit trillion-dollar cash infusion into the demonstrably corrupt and massively greedy "economic system."

If there's an "invisible hand" then it's picking the pocket of the working class.

Remember ... long-term capital gains tax rates have just become the lowest in history!

That's NOT a fucking coincidence!

6. I'm still amazed at the naivety of our leadership

Time and again the other side has proven that no dirty trick is too low for them. Why does our side keep thinking they won't do something dirty? It's too much.
