Obama initiated joint statement this morning
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26872907/

---snip---

The Obama campaign said Obama had called McCain around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to propose that they issue a joint statement in support of a package to help fix the economy as soon as possible. McCain called back six hours later and agreed to the idea of the statement, the Obama campaign said. McCain's statement about postponing his campaign was issued to the media a few minutes later.

-----------------

Obama got the ball rolling this morning, McCain followed. The campaign/debate postponement most likely came up when mccain returned phone call

What this means politically - don't know how it will play out. Obama has to take the lead, get the cats herded

repubs are going to fall in line behind McCain - the repub vote up/down is on mccain's shoulders

4. don't know about that, but
Obama has to get out in front, take the lead and herd the cats

One point he has to make is if regular americans are expected to take a hit and bail out wall street, then wall street also has to make sacrifices and forgo the golden parachutes - if wall street has enough money to give out golden parachutes then they have enough to pull themselves out of the hole

3. This is such a sleazy move on McCain's part
Trying to make it look like he is in the drivers seat, the whole country first before election.

Yet it was Obama who made the first move.
