Army unit deployed to... the USA
sorry if this has been posted before, I might have used too vague search terms.

This is some seriousy scary shit.
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/09/army_homeland_090708w/

"Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks."

"They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack."

"The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them."

And in Utah, Portable Prison cells

3. What are they prepare for? the Revolution that WILL take place if they try to steal this election?
I think they think Blacks will riot like they did after Rodney King

this is a bad bad sign for Obama
I think they are going to steal the election and they are preparing for that

4. I really don't like to think it will come to this
But i also don't want to underestimate the sociopathic and just plain evil of this administration. Since 2000, it has all been a big game to get to this point.
Did they deploy them because they are expecting bank runs and widespread looting, etc? THIS is some FU stuff...I am glad I live in a rural area, it may be easier to hide out until some of the dust settles...or it will be that much easier for them to round us up. Though I can bet there are quite a lot of gun owners around here, too...

I really don't want to go into fear, because then THEY WIN...so let's really focus on LANDSLIDE...you know if they DID cancel the elections, etc, we would see some serious riots....

7. It is scary and I think illegal
Call me naive, but I am not super sure that soldiers would wage open war on civilians, but who knows? In a panic there could be problems. What I am concerned about as well is why our Congress is not saying more about this. There should be more resistance from our representatives to bringing a combat brigade to actively prepare for intervention at home. I think that this has to do with both the economic situation and the election. Keeping my fingers crossed and my eyes and ears open.

8. Not just scary - illegal under the Posse Comitatus Act
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posse_Comitatus_Act

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385) passed on June 16, 1878 after the end of Reconstruction. The Act prohibits most members of the federal uniformed services (the Army, Air Force, and State National Guard forces when such are called into federal service) from exercising nominally state law enforcement police or peace officer powers that maintain "law and order" on non-federal property (states, their counties and municipal divisions) in the former Confederate states.

The statute generally prohibits federal military personnel and units of the United States National Guard under federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. The Coast Guard is exempt from the Posse Comitatus Act.

The Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act substantially limit the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement.

11. It's not a "unit" (well, technically it is).....it's a brigade.

That's important info.....that means about 4500 or more soldiers. Scary.
