Poll question: Would the Dem ticket be stronger if it was Biden/Obama?
I ask because my father, a moderate conservative wrote me a shocking E-mail today, stating that if the Democratic ticket were flipped he'd vote for it. My father has never voted for a democrat for president in his life, but has crossed lines before in state and local elections. His argument is that he is scared of Obama's inexperience and is afraid he would fail in a crisis. He also likes McCain to an extent, but is VERY worried about Palin.

All other things the same, would Biden/Obama have been the stronger ticket? Honestly I don't think so, but I'm curious what you think.

1. As someone who was hoping many months ago for a Biden-Obama ticket...no
Obama is a better politician, manager, executive type than Biden. Biden will be an excellent advisor, certainly capable of being acting president or president (heaven forbid). I supported Biden because I think our foreign policy and separation of powers being broken are two of the most dangerous things we face, and he has tons of experience on both of those. But Obama has had the same or better positions on those, and I think Obama is a more gifted politician and manager, and will actually be able to get things done. Even by picking Biden, plus his excellent, no-Drama, on-budget, competent campaign staff - I trust Obama to choose good advisors and weigh what they say carefully.

2. Biden was my first choice in the primaries, but "no".

I'm very excited he's on the ticket. Would it be stronger if he were at the top? I don't think so - Biden (obviously) cannot generate the excitement and passion Obama can. If he could, HE'D be the nominee.
