The last thing the dems need is for McCain to go back to washington and congress to credit him with helping make the decision go quicker or more smoothly. He only needs to be standing in the room and that's what will happen.

Remember, Obama is saying it isn't political either. If all the republicans, but not necessarily mccain himself, start saying "mccain was the savior, he made it happen" how do you think that'll look? Dems know it's a stunt... but the ones in the middle, they are the ones you need to be concerned about when it comes to perceptions.
