If you want some "straight talk", McCain, just hide and watch. My email to www.johnmccain.com |
|
This day has been surreal. And it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to know that.
For the first time in my life, I really felt the serious need to send a personal message to Mr. McCain, or at least to the frat-boy flunkie who's still manning his dwindling internets. Though it took a while to get through and post a message this afternoon, I'm glad I persisted.
Here's the message I left Mr. McCain:
"Why do you want to postpone Friday's debate? If you think your presence is suddenly necessary in Washington to clean up the mess that you helped create with your own decades-long de-regulation efforts, I have a better idea.
"Why not just withdraw from the campaign now and concede the election to Obama? If you do that, your political party will be spared six weeks of embarrassment, Sarah Palin can return to Alaska to (finally) become the governor (and mother) she has failed to be so far, and you can spend some quality time starting those 13 cars you own so their batteries won't die. Like your campaign just did.
"If you were still the maverick you were in 2000, I would still respect you. What, pray tell, ever happened to that John McCain? I expect his picture to start appearing on milk cartons real soon." -----
O.K, DUers, that's my truth this afternoon and I'm sticking to it. In the spirit of bipartisanship, I would like to invite the ENTIRE DU community to reach out to Mr. McCain in his hour of (confusion? reckoning? meds check?) and share a little of your own straight talk with him. You don't have to take my tone (I'm as subtle as a Mack Truck), but it would be nice if you could share some of your own thoughts with the McCain/Palin team at this moment of unusual turbulence in our democracy's history. If you do, post it here, s'il vous plait.
Now it's time for me to go plant an even bigger fall Garden.
Something tells me we're going to be needing it.

I would give anything for our side of the street to speak directly to the enemy camp this evening, as we teeter on the brink of .... (what?).

7. It's their last chance to steal what's left of America. |

Here's hoping they go out with a bang, and not a snicker.

5. Yeah, there's no time better than now to say what we mean ... |
|
... for the sake of our country.
"Country First."
Now, who said that?
