Signs were there but the economy didn't even become an issue until gas prices surged past $4/gallon. And even since then the focus has been wrong.

Most of them claim to have been blind-sided by this crisis. That's utter bullshit. M3? De-regulation? Housing bubble? Free trade? War funding? Tax cuts? None of this is new. They either weren't paying attention or chose to ignore the warnings.

As far as I'm concerned the entire corrupt government should be shit-canned.

This bailout bill has laid bare the corruption in DC that has been all too obvious for many years to those of us that have been paying attention. The general public is finally starting to wake up and speak out but unfortunately, as usual, their voices are drowned out by the Big Money guys.
