Is the economy LIHOP?
Disaster capitalists everywhere want to know. Arbusto...Arbusto...

And if it's so bad that it must now be privatized, why did they allow it to get there? If it's been years in the making, why not do something?

How quickly was the "Patriot Act" written? Priorites are telling...follow the money, and the control of money.

That was the giveaway. MIHOP. Plus Paulson said they've had this plan on the shelf for several months, didn't he?

7. It's MIHOP. Read 'The Shock Doctrine' by Naomi Klein.
She was on Democracy Now this morning. Here's the audio/video:

20. Bush had the Bailout Bill Drawn Up Over Year Ago....
the Bank Crisis and Foreclosures are MIHOP! No doubt this time. Bush can stand on his pile of burning mortgages with a little bull horn, and he can have all the evidence trucked to blast furnaces in China to be melted down (before they can test for explosive residue like Thermite) and he can make the black box flight recorders disappear.. but the world hears you now Bush... you CRIMINAL!

9. Hell yes..and perfectly timed.
Either Bush/McCain look like heroes for saving the day.

OR

Americans go batshit crazy and start lighting things on fire and Shrub gets to declare a National Emergency (tm) and postpone/suspend the elections.

12. Hell yes
Just like the run on the price of oil so the oil companies can own our coastlines for their corporate profit(thanks Democrats for caving BTW). This is just the same thing but to pad the pockets of the rest of the top 1%.

13. Yes, and I'm infuriated that NEITHER PARTY lifted a finger to stop it
Signs were there but the economy didn't even become an issue until gas prices surged past $4/gallon. And even since then the focus has been wrong.

Most of them claim to have been blind-sided by this crisis. That's utter bullshit. M3? De-regulation? Housing bubble? Free trade? War funding? Tax cuts? None of this is new. They either weren't paying attention or chose to ignore the warnings.

As far as I'm concerned the entire corrupt government should be shit-canned.

18. I'm with you 100%.
Bullshit indeed. It was all planned, pure and simple. Just one of their many schemes to take money from the poor and working class and funnel it to their rich buddies.

Shit-can the entire lot of them.

19. Welcome to DU, NoUsername
The voices of sanity are making a comeback in this nation. Too bad it's too effin' late to save us. The die's been cast. May we all make it safely to the other side of this mess.

21. Thanks.
This bailout bill has laid bare the corruption in DC that has been all too obvious for many years to those of us that have been paying attention. The general public is finally starting to wake up and speak out but unfortunately, as usual, their voices are drowned out by the Big Money guys. I'm absolutely LIVID about the bill and if any of my Congresspeeps vote for it, they will never hear the end of it from me.
