deregulate financial players, then give them $700 billion when they fail.
Regulate the hell out of schools, then defund them when they don't meet standards that no nation in the history of the world has tried to meet.

What's wrong here?

1. I agree with the first part
But as someone who went through the education system of other countries and pays attention to world rankings, I have to say the US education system has been pathetic and still is pathetic, whatever standards are imposed or not imposed.
