Running Scared: McCain Now Wants To Postpone VP Debate
McCain Camp Wants To Postpone VP Debate

Nico Pitney | Huffington Post | September 24, 2008 06:59 PM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John McCain's campaign now wants to suspend the VP debate?

CNN's Dana Bash reports that McCain officials are "trying to negotiate with the Obama campaign and the presidential debate commission" to change next Thursday's planned vice presidential debate into a McCain-Obama affair. The VP debate would be postponed to another date.

"That is what they are proposing," Bash reported. " understand very well that both the Obama campaign and the debate commission have no intention of delaying Friday's debate, but...if there is no bailout deal by Friday, McCain has no plan to go to debate."

- When McFlameyPants was stacked-up against the likes of a Mike Huckbuckabeez, The Mayor of 911, Ron "Goldbars" Paul and those other Repuke creeps and losers, he almost looked like a diamond sitting in a pile of shit. Like the pick of the litter. If its from a litter of piglets. Wearing lipstick, of course. But now The McCrapper is faced with a tall, healty, robust, intelligent, young and articulate opponent to joust with, and who would be in effect, testing him publicly so that we might determine the extent of his Alzheimer’s and general decrepitude. Obama would make him look like death warmed-over, which is what he is.

But now things have gotten DECIDELY WORSE FOR HIM, because he also has had the unfortunate happenstance of becoming a reminder of the very calamity that is facing the nation right now -- Another Financial Banking Crisis Caused By Greedy And Morally Deficient Repukes. Like himself and most of his campaign staff. So instead of answering the inevitable comparison questions, he is trying to turn the crisis to his advantage by hiding in his Senate Office where he can pretend as if this time he's trying to solve the problem, rather than helping make them happen.

Because this is the one venue, in which he indeed does have MUCH MORE EXPERIENCE than Obama does -- the bringing of a nation to its knees in a financial banking crisis. He starred as a main character in the last one. You could say that he wrote the book on it. Rather than having the book thrown at him for being a major cause of it.

So everyone now realizes that debating Obama will never do. And while Obama hasn't said it yet, the name: "CHARLES KEATING" hovers over McFlappyPants like a deadly pall. A miasma that will kill him as quickly as cyanide or arsenic. He knows that he must change from this path or he is doomed. His whole campaign has been one of misdirection away from the real issues using smoke and mirrors. So he cannot afford to be seen as a clear example of the causes of what's happening on Wall Street right now.

Therefore he has no choice but to take his campaign underground. And there, I'm sure that he'll fight-on through the remaining MSM news outlets whose reporters have cast-iron stomachs and no consciences. None, whatsoever. People like Katy Couric. She won't ask him any hard questions, and neither will any of the others. They are bought and paid for so they do what they are told.

But Sarah Palin has always been at a disadvantage, because she's not really "one of them." She's a tool designed to aid in the theft of truth and reason. But http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/24/mccains-5000-makeup-will_n_128973.html">even McCrapper's makeup artist cannot trowel on a sufficient amount of makeup with which to cover-over her glaring deficiencies. In this instance Sarah's involvement in this heist only makes matters worse. So of course he doesn't want to put himself in a debate he is sure to lose. And he can't afford to have her as the only voice of his campaign. You can only play that "I'm a hockey Mom" and "I shot a Moose once", or the "I can see Russia from my outhouse steps" gambit but just so far.

He's showing the nation his true self now -- for all to see. He's the first to "cut and run" you could say. And what's worse, he's using the most serious financial crisis of our times as cover to avoid anyone asking him those "parallel questions" about how this banking crisis compares to the other one he was involved in.

All of which reminds me of what I think is one of the more beneficial verses that one can find within bible under Proverbs 17:28, which says: "Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding...."

1. KO just opined on Letterman that
this whole postponement thing was all about replacing the VP debate with another Presidential debate, so Sarah can stay hidden in the shadows until after the election.

Incredible.

4. Neither of them wants to be answering questions.....
...in front of cameras right now. Not unless they can control the questions coming their way.

With Sarah Palin, they never know what the answers she might give might be. Something "Moosey" or "Hockey Mommish," they hope I'm sure. But they'd still be a helluva lot better than any answers he'd have to give about Lincoln Savings & Loan. And his involvement in it.

- Which there isn't any difference, of course. Greed was the motive in both....

3. Maybe he'd like to put this whole thing back to November 2009?
Just let Obama be inaugurated in January and let McCain catch up on his personal business whatever it is that makes it so hard for him to be on time - and just finish this thing when he's fully ready, or you know back from the hospital or whatever. No reason to rush. No big deal. Let him do it in his own time.

9. McCain was *not* hot shit in the GOP debates either
I don't know how many DUers watched them, but Mittens romney and Huckabee were, on the whole, the best debaters. At one of the later ones I thought McCain was so pissed off he was going to start chewing the furniture.
