I brought up the movie "Inherit the Wind" a while back in reference to the McCain |
|
Campaign.
Today my heart goes out to the old warrior.
McCain is gone past relevance so quickly and so utterly irreversible that it is almost cruel to keep this up.
He is now a warrior only in his mind and people are seeing thisshell of a man for what he truly has become, a tottering uncle who stayed up too late at the party...
Johnny, 'tis not that we hardly knew ye, 'tis that we have come to know ye far to well.

1. Yes, there is an analogy there all right... |

...I was just telling a friend tonight, I used to have a (probably misguided) grudging respect for the man, but now, he is just so obviously past it, and it is tragic. To see him paired up with the truly dim bulb that is Sarah Palin is doubly tragic, we can only hope that they don't manage to steal the election, because then the tragedy would go from a personal one to one of truly epic proportions.

2. I remember that thread... |

But do you think for a minute that he'd give up now?
Remember the saying...Return with your shield, or on it.
I think he's in that camp, honestly...
It's sad to watch...
