Hmmmm, looks like Palin isn't suspending Her campaign
Palin To Stump At Philly Airport Thursday
PHILADELPHIA -- Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin will bring her campaign to Philadelphia Thursday.

She's expected to hold a rally Thursday afternoon near the Philadelphia International Airport

On Wednesday night, the Alaska governor offered a grim assessment of the current financial crisis.

In a network television interview, Palin said the U.S. could be headed for another Great Depression if the bailout plan doesn't go through

"There has got to be action taken. Bipartisan effort. Congress, not pointing fingers at this point as one another. But finding a solution to this. Taking action. And being serious about the reforms on Wall Street that are needed," Palin said in the interview.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Sarah Palin may also suspend her campaign, matching running mate John McCain’s announcement that he would cease campaigning for president to return to Washington to try to hammer out a fix for the nation’s financial meltdown.

As the governor of Alaska, Palin cannot participate in the high-level federal government deliberations on the economy that McCain gave as his reason for suspending his campaign.

Yet, after McCain’s dramatic announcement, his campaign chief Steve Schmidt suggested Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, would also suspend her campaign.

“We're going to take the ads down. They won't be traveling. There won’t be rallies,” Schmidt said when asked about Palin’s campaign, according to a rough transcription provided to reporters.

1. They're liars. They lie about every single thing.
I seriously hope the American people is taking note of this. If you think Bush/Cheney is the all time champions of lying, guess again.

3. and it seems Cindy and Todd were still out doing fundraisers yesterday

Local Cindy McCain fundraiser went on as scheduled

Posted by Emily Heffter

Seattle Times reporter Bob Young reports that Cindy McCain did attend a $1,000-per-person private fundraiser in Hunts Point today, contrary to media reports that said the event was cancelled.

A McCain campaign spokesman confirmed the event occurred at lunchtime despite an afternoon report by the Associated Press -- later corrected -- saying it was cancelled.

The confusion is understandable. The event, which was originally to feature Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has been shrouded in secrecy. The McCain campaign wouldn't say who was hosting the event, reporters weren't allowed, there was even confusion about the time of the event which was initially described as an evening fundraiser. And the campaign offered no details about how many attended and how much was raised.

"We don’t comment on fundraisers. We don't talk about where they're held, the amount raised and the folks who attended," said McCain spokesman Rick Gorka.

~snip~

"UPDATE: Chris Fidler, co-chairman of McCain's steering committee in Washington state, attended the event and said that not only was Cindy McCain there for 90 minutes, but so was Todd Palin.

5. Unbelievable.
I dearly hope Josh Marshall or Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow pick this up...as well as the rest of the media. This is just shameless, brazen lying. Of course, I guess it's something we should expect from McCain and Palin.

7. hang on.. the campaigns are separate? Then how come they're not listed separately on ballots?

They're listed by ticket, not candidate, near as I can remember.

Unless this is an inadvertent slip that shows who they consider to be the "real" candidate.

9. So pulling all the ads was nothing to do with McCain's "mercy dash", then
because it's not as if he broadcasts them live.

I wouldn't trust McCain's team to run a whelk stall, let alone a country.
