Bay County Sheriff's officials said 44-year-old Ryder Laramore of Marianna was charged with DUI, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia Tuesday.

He is the son of Public Defender Herman Laramore.

Laramore is being represented by the public defender's office.

I see women wearing ties and pants all the time, why is it so weird that a parole officer is on drugs and wearing a mini-skirt? The wig was a bit much though.

2. That'd be a question to pose to Local 6

Why does a person's clothing gets reported for some incidents and not others?

But then that'd be rhetorical cuz we already know the answer...

4. Probably be something to pose to most all news stations
it is out of the ordinary of course, but wonders why in our more progressive society (still not as progressive as it should be obviously).

6.  Needs to get a grip on gender issues...
self medicating with illicit drugs and alcohol and "sneaking" around is no way to go through life.

the "guy" needs to come out...and be who he wants to be.

Sadly for many with gender identity problems when they get to this point in life they freak out.

Some end up dead.

8. But why does it have to be a gender issue?
I can understand part of why - but in general, women can wear "men's" clothes and it is all ok and pretty much normal (saw some lady the other day on the news wearing a tie, etc), but if a man wears something that women only usually wear it is seen as a gender identity problem (unless they are in kilts)?

Is it about coming out in general (as a transgendered, cross dresser, et al) or is it about society accepting that some people like to wear clothes that others of their sex don't generally wear?

I get that there are a myriad of issues involved here, but in the end why do we attach so many labels to people who want to wear certain clothes (except at halloween of course)?

We don't hear stories about women 'caught' dressing as men....but then maybe all this is better left to a whole thread on the issue.

9. well....yah....why?

I did not say it was wrong or anything to dress how you want.

But lets face it...his (or her) self destructive behavior (DUI, drugs not sexuality unless he having unprotected sex) is indicative of someone who is self denial and has a problem expressing themselves openly and how they want to be.

No label needed. Once (s)he accepts the fact that (s)he like to dress in what ever clothes (s)he wants as well as everyone else accepting how people dress as a form of self expression of then all will be super.

You are right...clothing should be about self expression not gender conformity...even if that expression blurs outdated cultural norms.
